Ford showcases their latest innovation 'Electronic Brake Light System'


Ford Motor Company, a global automotive industry leader, manufacturing and distributing across six continents has introduced their latest innovation 'Electronic Brake Light' system which promises to bring more safety into a car by helping driver to avoid or abate collisions.

The technology consists of a car to car communication feature which alerts the driver to brake ahead by illuminating a caution signal light on the dashboard. This technology is effective even around corners and through traffic. Numerous testing were made by Ford in Germany and they arrived at a conclusion through this technology could avoid or decrease collision all together. 



This technology has been tested by Ford as a part of Safe Intelligent Mobility- Testfield Germany (SIM-TD), a four year joint industry research project. This technology is among the 20 systems being developed by SIM-TD in an effort to reduce congestion and thus improve safety. 
Further technologies which is being developed for SIM-TD include Public Traffic Assignment, which used forecast traffic scenarios to be encountered travelling and In-car Internet Access which, enables drivers to get information about available parking spaces and traffic hotspots.
