Based on the spy shots though heavily camouflaged, the new model is supposedly larger than the current version and may be introduced in India at a higher price bracket than the current i10 thus slotting the model between current i10 and i20, making their brand available to a wider spectrum of customers.
For India, it is expected that the new i10 will be offered with a new 1.1-litre three cylinder turbo diesel engine. Moreover, a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine will also be offered along with the 1.2 Kappa engine. Also, Hyundai is likely to build the 1.1-litre diesel engine in its Chennai facility, which currently being imported from Korea.
Reports of launching the vehicle is being made based on the tweet from Siddharth Vinayak Patankar (NDTV), the new Hyundai i10′s Indian launch has been advanced to August 2013.
The next generation i10 will be priced starting close to Rs 4.5 lakh, while the top-end variant diesel variant close to Rs 7 lakh.
